Press Releases:
1 December 2009
For Immediate Release:
Stress Rx Therapeutic Massage is excited to announce that they have provided the 201st free massage treatment to clients diagnosed with cancer.
In January of 2009 it was a new years resolution, now it is just doing what is right, providing free massage treatments to anyone diagnosed or treated for cancer within the last 3 years. The releif of pain from cancer treatments should never be seen as a luxury! On Saturday November 28th we provided numbers 200 and 201 in free treatments.
The oncology massage program started as a self funded program in January. At first the program was word of mouth, we now receive referrals from physicians and chiropracters throughout the Quad City area. Currently we see about 20 patients at least once a month. While the program isn't the same for any two people, those that receive treatments experience deep relaxation, ease of stress, better sleep, and in some cases better mobility. The response from all receiving treatments has varied in words but the message has been the same, heart felt thank yous.
We self funded the program when we began, and are looking to expand both our services and the number of staff that are trained in oncology massage. We are actively seeking grants to continue and expand this program into 2010.
For more information on the oncology massage program at Stress Rx please visit the web site at www.stressrxmassage.com , or contact Michelle Burroughs, owner of Stress Rx and oncology massage practioner, at 563-210-0262.

For Immediate Release:
Stress Rx Therapeutic Massage is excited to announce that they have expanded into a larger office in downtown Davenport!
On October 4th the Stress Rx office at the Lodge Hotel closed and relocated to 207 E 2nd Streetin Davenport. This location is just two blocks from the base of the Rock Island Arsenal Bridge, on 2nd Street, just ½ block from the Radisson Davenport and two doors down from Major Art and Hobby. The new office has enough space to include 3 massage treatment rooms and a skin care room. Conveniently located next door is Salon Static, a newer salon that offers hair care, manicures, and pedicures. While the original expansion plans included the salon aspect, a decision was made to compliment the existing business rather than to compete. With this expansion manicures, pedicures and foot spas will no longer be available at Stress Rx. Services will still include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, sports massage, Ashiatsu, Eastern style reflexology, facials, waxing, and free oncology massage. Stress Rx continues to provide free massage treatments for anyone diagnosed or treated for cancer within the last three years.
Stress Rx is very excited about their new location. We are looking forward to serving the downtown Davenport and Rock Island Arsenal communities!
